CLAUDIA MATTIOTTO
In addition to her main role of rhythmics-solfeggio instructor (with the Dalcroze method) at CIRM, Claudia Mattiotto teaches Vocal and Piano Reading Practices and Techniques of Body Awareness and Expression at the G. Cantelli Conservatory of Novara (Department of Education).
In her 40-year experience, she taught Erasmus programs at the Conservatories of Eisenstadt (Vienna) and Ljubljana (Slovenia) and has been an active piano performer from 1985 to 2008 as part of the Mattiotto-Scano piano duo, who played in hundreds of venues all throughout Europe, as well as in India and in Egypt.
She played for Rai, TeleMontecarlo and Radio Koper (Slovenia): here she created, along with Guido Scano, the 15-episode radio program Quattro Passi nel Quattro Mani (Four Steps through Four Hands).
PROJECTS
Creator of important initiatives such as the “A suon di musica” Family Concerts for the Piccolo Regio theatre of Torino (from 2001 to 2007) and “Musica per divergere”, for pain therapy patients at the Piacenza hospital (2014-15);
Creator of the project Musica Madre – Music education system - to promote musical education in a structured and orderly fashion starting from kindergarten.
Author of the educational books:
- In Musica (Lalli editore): an approach to piano;
- Concerto in Famiglia (Edicirm 2003): 8 original songs, a selection of classical tracks and little educational activities;
- Le canzoni di Tilly (Edicirm 2017): 12 original songs, aimed to a conscious learning of music through singing.
STUDIES
Following her diploma, obtained at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Torino, she perfects her skills throughout a three-year program with Maestro Fausto Zadra on Vincenzo Scaramuzza's rational piano technique at the Ecole Internationale de Piano (Geneve, CH). She is then taught by Maestro Alfons Kontarski for her four hands repertoire at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Austria), and by Maestro Robert Abramson at the Manhattan School of Music (New York, USA), where she obtains her Dalcroze Teaching Certificate in 1991.
